[19:14:41] <~Bynw> *Kohel* "We should be able to make it there on a forced march in 3 days. Barring any resistance of course."
[19:16:21] <+Seth> ::Nods in satisfaction:: "You have a talent for warfare Major, we are indeed fortunate to have you on our side."
[19:18:04] <+Seth> "It seems our ruse is forfeit Major. The approch to the capital may be harder then the march here."
[19:18:04] <~Bynw> "These men are yours sire. They fight for their land against invaders." *the major says*
[19:20:40] <+Seth> ::Looks sharply at the Major:: "Yes it seems the attack on the village has galvanized our people. Too bad it has come at the cost of our capital."
[19:21:05] <~Bynw> *another, younger man steps forward. he wears the rank of captain* "The jungle still gives way as we head for egoria."
[19:23:07] <+Seth> "Yes, the traitorous druids have made it easy for us to move away, for obvious reasons."
[19:23:24] * +Coch chiming in from behind the other Lords "It should cost them their capital too"
[19:25:39] <+Seth> "I wouldn't count on Egora falling that easily. Their army is caught in our capital, but they are sure to have left reserves."
[19:26:58] <+Charissa> we need a surprise they may not be expecting
[19:27:19] <+Charissa> " "
[19:28:28] <+Seth> "I am out of surprises. Anyone have an idea?"
[19:28:33] <+Coch> "We must make it so costly that Egoria they will never want to try this again and for the rest of the little kingdoms around to know what will happen if they try as well"
[19:29:09] <+Coch> "I say we burn their capital to the ground"
[19:30:44] <~Bynw> *Kohel* "Begging your pardon my lords. But the Egorian army that entered Warp Wood is not a threat to us. Now is the time to head for the capital and take it, Egoria's capital."
[19:31:16] <+Charissa> "that's a great idea, Coch, even if we don't burn it down right away, we can make them *think* the capital is burning"
[19:31:36] <+Seth> ::his brow wrinkles:: "Let's not start a rebellion Lord Coch. We can occupy the capital and win the hearts of the people. We need the people behind us. Keep in mind it was the nobility that commited the army to burning our village and invading, not the common man."
[19:32:28] <+Charissa> "they are used to severe taskmasters Seth, they will not believe a namby pamby overload.  We need to at least make them think we're ruthless"
[19:34:14] <+Coch> "Seth, they can build new houses"
[19:34:45] <+Coch> "I don't want to kill the innocent but if they have to move they move"
[19:35:34] <+Charissa> "besides, my plan wouldn't actually *burn* their houses, just make them think they're burning"
[19:35:41] <+Seth> ::thinks for a moment then nods agreement with Charissa:: "Yes, your magesty. I would suggest a trial for the crimes committed. A trial for the royal family and it's supporters. A heavy tax on the people will keep them too busy to think about rebellion. We can start there. The people will be glad to see the nobility hang."
[19:36:25] <+Charissa> "hanging the nobility will come much later--first we have to show the common people and soldiers we are ruthless"
[19:36:53] <+Seth> "I would suggest we come to the people as saviours, not barbarians. Let the nobility feel our full raith."
[19:37:16] <+Charissa> "gentlemen, what I propose is an illusion--an illusion that their houses are burning, that their whole city is burning--now some of the Deryni among them may be able to see through it, but most won't be able to."
[19:38:10] <+Jack> Now that's a plan.
[19:38:15] <+Coch> "And then we take the Egorian Lords and Ladies"
[19:38:24] <+Charissa> "exactly!"
[19:38:52] <+Seth> ::Looks taken aback:: "Take?"
[19:42:35] <+Coch> "Take the Lords for trial and the Ladies to Warp Wood for security"
[19:43:50] <+Seth> ::Looks thoughtful for a moment, then speaks outloud:: "With the king dead who holds the reigns of power in the capital? Is there a heir apparent?"
[19:44:15] <+Seth> "is the heir in the capital or with the army?"
[19:46:25] * +Jack begins to sway the catches himself.
[19:47:25] <+Seth> ::looks to Jack and in his haste forgets the lordly honorific:: "Jack? Something the matter?"
[19:48:36] <+Jack> "Whoa, just another vision."
[19:49:16] <+Seth> ::Eyes Jack doubtfully:: "Oh? What have you seen lord Anadari?"
[19:49:17] <+Jack> "I saw the lords and ladies of Egoria fighting for territory now that the king is dead."
[19:50:09] <+Charissa> "when did their king die?"
[19:50:19] <~Bynw> *the captain* "If your vision is true. We should be able to take Egoria. They have much to answer for ..."
[19:52:37] <+Jack> "Yeah, this seems to be the time to go for it."
[19:53:42] <+Seth> ::Nods to the Captain:: "Your majesty you will have your chance for reprisal. Blood and fire reign down at your command. Though I have no idea how you will cast an illusion so large. The Marshal and I will see to the royal family's justice as is my role as Warp Woods law maker. I of course bow to the lordly majority in this matter. Let's push on."

[19:54:40] <+Charissa> "Jack, I will need you to help me with the illusion, if that's alright with you and you're up to it physically."
[19:54:51] <+Seth> "We will come to the bottom of who is responsible for the butchery of our people."
[19:56:18] <+Jack> "Sure, no problem."
[19:56:30] * +Charissa nods "good, good."
[20:01:59] <+Charissa> "let's move then people!"
[20:03:52] * +Coch prepares to move
[20:05:10] <~Bynw> *the major musters the troops to begin the march to Egoria
[20:06:02] <+Charissa> "we will have to prepare *our* troops on the final day before we get to the Egorian capital to not believe everything they see"
[20:14:01] <~Bynw> *captain* "Do you think there some sorcery involved?"
[20:15:21] <+Charissa> "there will be some sorcery involved on our part, Captain, an illusion to make the Egorians think their city is on fire."
[20:15:44] <+Charissa> "Unfortunately, illusions don't distinguish between friend or foe"
[20:16:00] <+Charissa> "so we will have to prepare our troops to not be too shocked at what they see"
[20:20:14] <+Seth> ::Simply raises his eyebrows, but says nothing::
[20:21:14] <~Bynw> *the troops move out heading futher north for Egoria ...
[20:29:11] <~Bynw> *along the way the numbers of the army grows as they pass more villages. those who have lost to the Egorian march early ... by night fall they reach the ruins of the trade road.*
[20:31:54] <+Seth> ::Ties off his horse and begins to make a small camp, becoming used to the pattern by now. He sips at a wine skin as one of the troops sets it up under his not so watchful eye::
[20:33:20] <~Bynw> *the young captain looks around the ruins*
[20:33:45] <+Seth> "Another night sleeping out of doors. If I had known the ruse wouldn't have worked I'd have brought a wagon so at least I wouldn't be sleeping without a real bed."
[20:35:04] * +Coch is walking about the camp saying hello to the new troops
[20:41:19] <~Bynw> *the captain and some others have broken away from the rest and are picking up the debris of the trade road
[20:42:03] <+Seth> ::Looks up at the Captain:: "Find anything interesting Captain? Where did the wizards used to build this road get off to anyways?"
[20:44:29] <~Bynw> *he looks over at Seth* "there is nothing here for me to find. i was here when the Egorian's attacked. I am and my men are the wizards"
[20:46:50] <+Charissa> "so, Captain, do you think you can augment me and assist in my plan?
[20:46:53] <+Charissa> "
[20:48:50] <~Bynw> *captain* "I have other plans."
[20:48:52] <+Seth> ::his full attention now focuses on the captain:: "I see. How many adepts do you have with you?"
[20:49:11] <+Seth> "Plans? What are you thinking captain?"
[20:50:00] <+Charissa> "aye, do tell, "Captain...""
[20:51:47] <~Bynw> *captain* "It is simple. They stole lives and wealth from us. Their debt must be repaid. Simple and basic."
[20:52:51] <+Charissa> "as long as your plan doesn't interfere with mine and as long as the common people aren't made to suffer, that's fine with me."
[20:54:43] <+Seth> ::emits one of his rare full belly laughs:: "Leave it to an agent of the Seafort's to reduce a thing to a balance sheet. Coin eh Captain? The Seafort agency will be compensated I promise. You have been fair and honorable with us I will personally see that you balance sheet will look well when sent back to your masters."
[20:55:23] <+Seth> "But do not presume that you can help yourselves. Agreed Captain?"
[20:56:38] <~Bynw> *he snorts* "The Seaforts are not my masters. They are my business partners."
[20:59:50] <+Seth> ::smirks:: "As you say Captain. Are you and your men for hire then?"
