[19:41:54] * +Paladin looks at Alec again.. wondering what he is doing.

[19:41:57] <+_Nym_> "Before we set out I think we should decide if we want to go with Alec's plan or not?" 
[19:42:01] <.Bynw> *Alec sits motionless staring straight ahead at nothing*
[19:42:34] <+Paladin> "He wants to use the pool, does he not, Nym?"
[19:42:49] <+James> "Master Alec's plan carries great risk.  What if he is unable to defeat King Michael?"
[19:43:37] <+_Nym_> ::To Paladin:: "No, we only wait for the Uthani to." 
[19:43:58] <+James> "In that case we will have handed over a powerful tool to the enemy."
[19:43:58] <+_Nym_> ::To James:: "Most likely, die." 
[19:44:24] * +Paladin looks at Nym squarley in the eye.
[19:44:33] <+Paladin> "Do you trust him?"
[19:44:43] <.Bynw> *Alec lets out a sigh and closes his eyes. He then picks up a nearby twig and scratches out the symbol before him in the dirt*
[19:46:00] <.Bynw> *Alec stands in a single motion and opens his eyes looking across at Nym* "Are we ready to go?"
[19:46:14] <+_Nym_> ::Looks to Alec, but answers Paladin:: "Yes, and No. I trust he will stick to his plan. But he is not trustworthy beyond that." 
[19:46:31] <+James> "If we attempt to destroy the power of the pool, we deny it to the enemy.  And if we fail at that, Master Alec can still try his plan."
[19:46:36] * +Paladin spits on the ground.
[19:47:31] <+Paladin> "I don't think we can expect to have that pleasure, Master James."
[19:47:36] <+_Nym_> "Alec's plan hinges on the Uthani gaining the pool first. I should add that if Michael dies, it stands a good chance of stopping the Uthani's invasion." 
[19:48:06] <+_Nym_> "While destroying the pool will not." 
[19:48:06] <+T_Shaw> "So much hinges on uncertainty, Master Nym."
[19:48:38] <+Paladin> "If we try to stop the Uthani first, we will either succeed.. or die."
[19:49:02] <+James> "Master Alec's plan can still be tried of we reach the pool first but fail to destroy its power."
[19:49:12] <+Bredock> (( i was afk for a moment there))\
[19:49:28] <+T_Shaw> "James brings up a good point. It's always good to have a fallback plan."
[19:49:38] <+Paladin> "I cant imagine trying to break the pool without repucussions.. either supernatural or Uthani."
[19:49:44] <.Bynw> *Alec* "Invasion is not the current plan or the force of men here would be much stronger. This is a dedicated squad for a specific mission."

[19:50:26] <+_Nym_> ::Shakes his head at James suggestion:: "The Uthani have to believe they are winning and that means they have to gain the pool first. Not to mention the pool itself it dangerous and will drain our reserves leaving us defenseless for Michael." 
[19:50:57] <+Paladin> "Alec, they destroyed a non-essential monestary.. unless you know why, and a better knowledge of why they would have done that."
[19:51:40] <+_Nym_> ::Nods to Alec:: "This group yes, but Uthani has gathered it's army on the boarder. They will invade with it." 
[19:51:46] <.Bynw> *Alec to James* "Capture the pool and induct a rite of power transfer to His Majesty. Freeing him from the Spectral's bondage that has held him prisoner for close to a melennia"
[19:53:10] <.Bynw> *Alec to Paladin* "They sought sacrifices to divine the location of the pool." *Turning to Nym* "What they were doing before when we stopped them. This time they succeeded."

[19:55:03] <+James> "Master Alec, may I ask you one thing?"

[20:01:06] <+T_Shaw> "Master Alec, what you are doing is traitorous to your country and your King. What's to say you won't betray US when the time comes?"
[20:02:17] <+Paladin> "I can see that you have noble ideals, Alec.. but Master Shaw's words regard their part now."
[20:03:08] <.Bynw> *Alec* "I only have one plan here. The defeat and final death of King Michael of Utha. After that I shall leave you."
[20:03:27] <+_Nym_> ::His eyes narrow a bit:: "And who do you plan to put into power in his place Alec?" 
[20:03:28] <+T_Shaw> "Dead or alive."
[20:04:01] <+Paladin> "In truth, I don't really know any of you, but you all seem to be after the same thing I am."
[20:05:01] * +Paladin nods to Nym.
[20:05:05] <+_Nym_> "I have read the truth of Alec's words, he intends to complete his plan and leave as he says. I can vouch for him in that." 
[20:05:25] <+Paladin> "Albeit, your approach of democracy pleases me, Master Nym."
[20:05:30] <+James> "Then I am willing to risk his plan."
[20:06:04] <.Bynw> *Alec looks straight at Nym* "I will be King of the Uthani people by right of conquest as he has no heirs being among the walking dead"
[20:06:10] <+T_Shaw> "If Master Nym vouches for the truth of your words, Master Alec, I am inclined to support his wisdom."

[20:07:28] <+Paladin> "Alec, why not take an example of what is going on here, and apply it to your claim... I for one believe that no one person should rule a people"
[20:07:40] <+Bredock> "I think any help we get we should take."
[20:07:44] <+James> "I'm no fan of kingmaking, but from what I've seen of Master Alec, it seems he'll make a better king than Utha has now.  It's hard to be much worse, after all."
[20:07:52] <+T_Shaw> "I agree with Bredock."
[20:08:21] <+_Nym_> ::His eyes downcast:: "Alec, so long as you hold to the ideals of your order I will have to hunt you should you rise to that position." 
[20:08:58] <+_Nym_> ::Looks sidelong at Alec:: "Why not remove those robes and come home to Tennes?" 
[20:09:53] <.Bynw> *Alec puts his hand on Nym's shoulders* "Tennes is not my home. It has never been my home. Kes was my home and Utha is my home."
[20:10:46] <+_Nym_> ::Sighs and raises an eyebrow as if to say 'we will see'"

[20:10:52] <.Bynw> *Alec* "We must ride as daylight has come and the Uthani force is already on the move by now"
[20:11:10] <+_Nym_> "We are agreed to Alec's plan then?" 
[20:11:19] * +Paladin clears his throat
[20:11:28] * +Bredock looks to Paladin
[20:11:31] <+Paladin> "Aye"
[20:11:38] * +James nods. "I will risk it."
[20:12:24] <+Bredock> "Aye."
[20:12:25] <+T_Shaw> "Aye. We stand together or fall together."
[20:13:19] <+_Nym_> "Then let's get moving. Alec lead us to our horses, please." 
[20:13:30] <+Paladin> "Now, we should see to our mounts.. mine is wounded, for certain."
[20:13:34] <.Bynw> *Alec* "Drop the wards ..."
[20:15:41] <.Bynw> ?? wards dropping yet ??
[20:15:43] <+_Nym_> ::Raises his arms over his head. The ghostly green dome fades into nothing:: 
[20:16:38] <.Bynw> *outside of the where the dome once stood are the bodies of 3 Uthani soldiers lying dead on the ground ... their uniforms torn to shreds
[20:16:56] <+_Nym_> ??absent of blood?? 
[20:17:06] * +Paladin sneers at the bodies.
[20:17:20] <.Bynw> *the bodies appear to be a bit withered husks
[20:17:31] <+James> ??Do we see the horses??
[20:17:35] <.Bynw> !! no
[20:18:02] <.Bynw> *Alec looks over the bodies* "Sentries on duty last night. Outside of their ward."
[20:18:17] <+Bredock> "Work of your mount?"
[20:18:41] <+Paladin> "No, Bredock.. this is what we fought last night"
[20:18:57] <+_Nym_> "Our agreement is honored I think. Let's move." 
[20:19:01] <+James> "I'd say more likely a vampire."
[20:19:12] <+Bredock> "that too."
[20:19:21] <.Bynw> *Alec* "No this is work of our visitor from last night" *he looks up at the morning sky*
[20:20:03] <.Bynw> "Ambria come to me" *he says just above a whisper*

[20:21:46] <.Bynw> *there is a slight flash of silverly light, like handfire and then Alec's steed is there before him. he reaches his hand and pats its coat* "you are a find las and a good friend"

[20:25:05] <.Bynw> "She is going to get them. They are safe."

[20:25:40] <+James> "What is her name?"
[20:26:02] <.Bynw> *Alec* "Ambria"
[20:26:18] * +Paladin looks on in fascination of the strange steed with three horns, as it appears and dissappers.
[20:26:44] <.Bynw> *the creature reappears in hint of silver, in her mouth she caries the reins of 3 of the horses ... Paladin's among them*
[20:27:25] * +Paladin looks quickly over his steed... Looking for signs of harm.
[20:28:19] <.Bynw> * Paladin's steed is injured but alive and definately needs more tending before it can be ridden*
[20:28:20] * +T_Shaw watches in amazement
[20:28:47] <+_Nym_> ??who's horses are the other two?? 
[20:28:57] * +Paladin walks over and takes his horse in hand, touching his forehead to the horses'. He whispers quietly to it.

[20:29:31] <+Paladin> "James, can you help my horse?"
[20:29:39] * +Bredock goes and mounts his horse
[20:30:17] <.Bynw> *Ambria waits until someone claims each of the horses before vanishing again and returning within a few minutes with the remaining mounts*
[20:30:34] * +T_Shaw gets my horse and pets it.
[20:30:58] * +James first goes to Ambria. "Thank you, Ambria, for protecting our horses."
[20:31:09] <+T_Shaw> "Thank you, Ambria."
[20:31:15] <+_Nym_> ::climbs into the saddle on his horse:: 
[20:31:25] <.Bynw> *Ambria nods at James as Alec himself climbs into her saddle*

[20:31:35] * +James then claims his mount and heads it over to Paladin's.
[20:32:10] <+James> "Your mount needs help, Paladin."
[20:32:16] * +T_Shaw climbs into the saddle and heads it over to the group
[20:32:31] <+Paladin> "Yes, can you do anything for him?"
[20:33:20] * +James motions over Paladin's mound and speaks in the language of Druids.

[20:55:22] <.Bynw> *Alec* "He is a powerful spellcaster. A priest and in life, a well trained Deryni .. his mental powers have followed him to this side of the grave"

[20:56:23] <+Paladin> "Anyways, Nym, we would have seen a split in the force if so."

[20:57:44] <+Paladin> "My guns... are magical.. but against undead, well, you saw that I wasn't really effective against the vampires."
[20:58:17] <.Bynw> *Alec turns back to look at James and Paladin* "Yes he is a lich. If you uses your guns 'Paladin' ... use them on the mortals"
[20:58:34] * +Paladin nods in agreement to Alec.
[20:59:03] <+Paladin> "Then its up to you Anadari Knights.. and perhaps James to fight Micheal."
[20:59:34] <+Paladin> "Ill hold off his supporters as best I can.. with my street cannon and pistols."
[21:00:31] <+_Nym_> ::Stares off into the distance with a look of sadness at Paladin's words:: 
[21:01:00] <+T_Shaw> "That should at least buy us time to defeat Michael, Paladin."
[21:01:17] <+Bredock> "How far are we from it?"
[21:03:32] <.Bynw> *Alec* "Its not in Einar ... its in Retane ... Paradise now days." *he looks ahead toward the east* "Several days, a week, just out of the mountains and foothills."

[21:04:25] <+Paladin> "We could cut apart the Utha force in that time.. piecemeal."
[21:05:24] <+James> "That wouldn't work.  When they saw their numbers diminishing, they'd attack."
[21:05:34] <.Bynw> "This force has Anadari in it, priests and I would think most of the force is Deryni."
[21:05:41] <+Paladin> "If they see us, they will expect that.. and attack us anyways."
[21:06:07] <+T_Shaw> "Damned if we do, damned if we don't."

[21:07:25] <+T_Shaw> "If we could dwindle their numbers, it would put them on the defensive."
[21:07:30] <.Bynw> *Alec* "The Anadari would render your guns useless ... I would do the same. And since I trained them I know what they will do to some degree"
[21:08:08] <+Paladin> "Aye, Alec, but many of the Utha are gunmen as well. I was witness to that."

[21:09:27] <.Bynw> *midday comes in the summer sun as the forest begins to thin
[21:09:31] <+James> "Gunmen, swordsmen, Anadari . . . it doesn't matter for now.  We follow and attempt to not be noticed."
[21:09:52] <+T_Shaw> "Paladin, if things get too hairy, I may be able to knock out their Anadari, at least temporarily."
[21:10:17] <+T_Shaw> "The drawback is that it would knock out the Anadari amongst us as well."
[21:10:33] <+Paladin> "And I'll be right at your side gunning the rest down, Shaw."
[21:11:39] <+Paladin> "30 paces, and a coffin."
[21:11:50] <+T_Shaw> "I will use it only as a final option, in deference to James, Master Nym, and Master Alec."
[21:12:07] <+James> "Both sides probably have a strong Anadari presence.  I know ours does.  If you knock them all out, whose advantage would that be to?"
[21:12:32] * +T_Shaw says with a twinkle in his eye, "It would give me a chance to scratch an itch, so to speak."

[21:13:15] <+Paladin> "I would think your attack could be directed, if not by direction, by proximity, Shaw?"

[21:13:36] <.Bynw> *Alec turns and looks at the rear of the party and turns back to Nym* "Do we press on and eat in the saddle?"
[21:13:58] <+T_Shaw> "Paladin, perhaps, but if we are in close proximity to those fighting Michael, it hurts us all anyway."
[21:14:28] <+Paladin> "I was thinking of something more... sneaky, Shaw."
