The World of Teara Adan
1. Character Concept, discuss your character concept with the GM.
Your Gamemaster may or may not want players to discuss their characters with each other. (Your characters may
meet for the first time at the start of the adventure, in which case revealing information about each character should happen within the game.)
2. Choose a Race, a Rank or other Packages, and a name for your character.
See the Packages links.
3. Assign traits (Skills, Attributes, Gifts, and Faults) by doing the following in any order:
a. Pick one of the following skill level packages for your character. Keep in mind that trading is allowed
- 25 skills (20 @ Fair and 5 @ Mediocre)
- 16 skills (1 @ Great, 3 @ Good, 10 @ Fair, and 2 @ Mediocre)
- 16 skills (4 @ Good, 11 @ Fair, and 1 @ Mediocre)
- 14 skills (1 @ Great, 5 @ Good, and 8 @ Fair)
- 13 skills (1 @ Superb, 2 @ Great, 3 @ Good, 6 @ Fair, and 1 @ Mediocre)
- 12 skills (2 @ Good, 7 @ Fair, 3 @ Mediocre)
b. Assign attributes, all of which begin at Fair. You may use two free levels to increase one attribute by two levels (from Fair to Great) or two attributes by one level each (from Fair to Good).
c. Choose two gifts, including whatever is required for the overall Rank and Race and other packages you select.
d. Choose two faults, including those required for the overall Rank/Race/Other Packages you select.
4. Refine your character by trading Traits.
You may do any or all of the following, as many times as you would like, provided your GM approves:
a. Trade one skill for two at a lower level (trade a Good skill for two Fair, a Great for two Good, etc.).
b. Trade two skills for a skill at one level greater (trade two Mediocre for a Fair, or two
Fair for one Good skill, etc.). Note that this trade requires the GM’s approval!
c. Decrease an attribute one level to raise another by one level, or trade it for one gift.
d. Take another fault to raise an attribute by one level or gain another gift.
5. Select a suitable complement of equipment for your character.
The GM should define the equipment and monetary resources your character has when the game begins.
