Skills

The World of Teara Adan

Not all skills will be available to all characters. Please ask your GM first before taking a skill.

I STILL DO NOT LIKE THIS METHOD AND OVER THE COURSE OF PLAYING IT SEEMS TO NOT WORK TOO WELL. THE FUTURE WILL INVOLVE A MIXED VERSION OF THIS METHOD AND THE 5 POINT FUDGE METHOD. SKILLS WILL BE REORGANIZED INTO SKILL GROUPS

Any skill in red print indicates that a gift is required to use it.

What the skill ranks represent.

  • Terrible: You are untrained with no exposure to the skill, or truly inept despite exposure or training.
  • Poor: This is the “default” skill level that assumes some exposure to the skill and its use, but minimal experience.
  • Mediocre: You have basic competency in a skill. You could make a living using this skill, with support from other related skills.
  • Fair: You are fully competent with this skill. This is the normal level for someone who uses this as his primary skill for making a living.
  • Good: You’re not just competent, you’re good at this! People will travel across town to see you or hire you.
  • Great: You’re a master at this skill. People will travel across the kingdom to buy your services.
  • Superb: You are one of the best in the kingdom — or perhaps even all of the Quarte!
